Recurrent shipper

Target audience

This recurrent training is aimed towards shippers who need to prepare shipments of dangerous goods for air transport. The basic training (AIR-E) is required to attend to this training.

Goal

After attending this training, the participant will be qualified to prepare shipments containing dangerous goods intended to be transported by air, according to the international and national requirements.

Training description

During this training, the participant will revise and update the knowledge of the applicable Act and Regulations regarding transportation of dangerous goods by air in Canada. Here are the key topics that will be covered:

  • Act and Regulations basic requirements
  • Classification system and criteria
  • Packaging requirements
  • Marking and labelling
  • Shipping documents
  • Exemptions

Training content

This audio-visual supported training will allow participants to acquire the knowledge required by the international and national Regulations on transportation of dangerous goods. We are a training organization accredited by the Commission des partenaires du marché du travail. Our training is eligible under the Act to promote workforce skills development and recognition.

  • Use of I.A.T.A. guide (Containing I.C.A.O technical instructions)
  • Classification system – 9 classes
  • Classification criteria
  • Segregation
  • Packaging requirements
  • Marking and labelling
  • Shipping document and other relevant documents
  • Placards
  • Exemptions
  • Emergency measures
  • Emergency report

During the training, the participants are encouraged to ask questions. The attendee must complete a questionnaire to evaluate the knowledge acquired on classification of dangerous goods, marking and labelling and shipping documents, among others. This questionnaire will be returned to their employer as well as a wall certificate and wallet size certificate.
